A bushy small shrub with narrow, silvery-grey leaves and small aromatic purple flowers appear in terminal spikes in summer. The flower heads are 3-4cm in length and are sweetly fragranced. The leaves and flowers from this variety are edible. Lavender is best used to flavour milk/sugar recipes such as ice-cream or custards. The flower spikes can also be added to green or black tea or used to decorate cakes. Lavender flowers and foliage can dried and used in sachets or potpourris.
Plant in a sheltered position in full sun and in well-drained soil
